A short experimental film I made in 1963/64, one of the first 16mm films I ever completed to release print stage. I had tremendous support from Tom Cowan as cinematographer, sadly his surname is mispelt on the credits! Frank Traynor’s jazz band was rehearsing for a record (LP) and we were allowed to film during the rehearsal period, for just 90 minutes. I also had the honour of having Miss Nancy Weir perform the music, Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata. My friend Russell Hurley recorded that audio. The film was supported by the State Film Centre where I worked at that time. Sadly, this restoration was digitised from a duplicate negative from NFSA which had lots of neg dirt (sparkle) and processing streaks and this restoration is the best I could get out of it.
